This piece tracks the 66th year of this couple’s marriage with checkpoints at family birthdays. Between birthdays the couple chooses which segment to remove, to make patterns and designs as they countdown the days, becoming a part of the life of this piece.

Each time around the circuit is one season with the next gradually revealed underneath. The warmth or coolness of its colors reflect the mood of the coming months making this a fresh and forward-leaning piece every day of the year.

The initial stage of this piece displays August-October but pulling the right threads in the right order gradually replace these with November-February in a different design and color palette. This particular calendar offers itself to greater functionality with a space for day numbering that hides itself when February appears leaving the owner with a more abstract than functional result.
